I know you want to decorate your home. You want it to look really great and you want to get it done (“done” is one of my favorite words). You, however, have a very busy life and it’s hard to get to all the things that are calling your name, so that’s an obstacle.
On top of that, you’re not sure how to make it look the way you want it to look. Shopping online? Oh yeah, those 1 gazillion choices are NO HELP! You’d love to hire someone—like an interior designer perhaps—but they’re so expensive (or so you think).
I’ve got the answer for you. Do you think you know what it is? Is it about painting your walls, because you always read that paint is the biggest bang for the buck….
How about spending hours and hours and hours on Pinterest, getting inspiration? Nope. Not about working with a furniture store that offers “free” design services either. Well what could it be? What could it be?
The answer is back up a few lines, but not in the way you think.
The answer IS to work with an interior designer - in a way that’s not expensive and doesn’t take a lot of time, but it DOES get it done!
This year, I changed my business model. I kept my design education and years and years of experience creating awesome rooms for awesome clients, but am now focussing on 2 design options. They’re listed on the Services page, but I’ll boil them down for you in a sec:
Option #1 is a 2 hour design consultation. I can give out an amazing amount of design help in 2 hours. You’ll get information that can make a huge difference in your project. What to do, what to buy, where to buy it, who to call, etc.
I call Option #2 “Shop and Show.” It was created for those who want a little more help after the consultation. After we go through Option #1, I’ll Shop for specific products for your room. I’ll Show them to you via a digital design board that gives you links or local contact information so you can place an order, wait for delivery and then be done!
Here’s an example of a Shop & Show digital board I just did for a client’s Eat-in Kitchen the other day:
Of course, there were other boards for his project. I include an alternative choice or two for each element as well as links so he could shop right from the board. I also made him a short video, talking about each choice so he could understand the reason for it and where to put it. He said it was awesome! He’s getting it done as I type this!
My services are not cheap (remember that design education and years of experience I mentioned?), but they’re far, far cheaper than investing in full service interior design, which, by the way, takes a lot more time, too. My fee is easily offset by the mistakes you’re NOT going to make and the great ideas you ARE going to use with confident abandon.
Think about it - when doing your taxes, is the biggest bang for your buck a calculator or an accountant? When something is wrong with your car, is it a jack and a YouTube video or is it a mechanic? When you get sick, do you want a doctor or your mother? Ok, scratch that one, we all want our mommy when we’re sick (because she’s the only one who will dote on us appropriately).
Working with a person who specializes in your issue will always be the shortcut to success. I like how that sounds, don’t you?
It means you will save money. And time.
And you’ll get it done. There’s that fabulous word again.
Many of my 2 hour consultation clients (that’s Option #1, remember?) later tell me that they jumped in the car and raced to recommended stores immediately after their consult. They were so delighted with the information and excited to finally get started!
They also tell me that they use the ideas generated for months, making steady progress on creating rooms that finally become beautiful, functional and just what they always hoped for.
I work in the Greater Raleigh area - that includes, Durham, Chapel Hill, Apex, Knightdale, Morrisville and Holly Springs. I love meeting people and helping them see their rooms in a different way.
Decorate your home the fast and fabulous way - let’s get this DONE.
